Altar Servers

What is an Altar Server?

Altar Servers are trained to assist the priest on Sundays, Holy Days, funerals, weddings and other celebrations at the Church, including school Masses. During Mass they will light candles and incense, hold the Missal for prayers, and set the altar. Servers must be in 3rd grade+ and have received their first Communion. This is a wonderful opportunity to participate more fully in the Eucharist.

How can I become an Altar Server?

Training for new altar servers is held every 2-3 months. Notifications will be sent out through the church bulletin, Flocknote, and posted to this site. To ensure training quality, only 10-12 new servers will be trained at a time. If you would like to be added to the altar server training list, please email John Banowsky at john@spccdallas.org
